Join us on this Private tour and explore the Dalmatian hinterland. You will be amazed by the beauty of Vranjaca Cave. This protected geomorphological natural monument is considered the most beautiful cave open to the public in Dalmatia. The cave channels are about 365 m long in total, and it takes about an hour to tour them. Set your imagination free and you will see stalactite and stalagmites formations, looking like people, animals, or buildings.
After enjoying the richness of formations of stalagmites and stalactites you will visit the town of Sinj settled in the heart of Dalmatian hinterland, famous for the UNESCO protected Alka Knights Game – the annual knights’ tournament which takes place every August. It is a legacy of the commemoration of the famous victory over the vastly superior Ottoman forces in 1715 and is one of the more colorful and individual cultural events in Europe.
Vist Alka Museum and discover the whole story about Alka, knights, uniforms, horses, and 300 years of tradition.
In the afternoon we will visit Family run Horse Farm where you can try your hand in knights skills like spearing and horse riding and later try some delicious food this region is famous for.
Arambasi – a mixture of meat wrapped in sour cabbage and cooked in a pot and Peka a traditional Croatian dish that’s made with meat and vegetables cooked in an open fireplace under the bell-shaped lid (called Peka in Croatian). Hot coals and embers are placed on top of the dome for even, slow cooking.

The first stop is half an hour drive from Split where we will visit the Vranjaca cave
The Vranjaca cave is situated only 24 km from Split, in the heart of Dalmatian hinterland, in the village Kotlenica. You will be welcomed by Mr. Punda, who is the grandson of Stipe Punda, who discovered the cave in 1903.
A small natural passage takes us in 65 meters deep cave separated into 9 champers full of decoration in all shapes and sizes. In the upper part, evidence has been found that people were living there several thousand years ago, the cave is about 65-70 million years old and it was created by an underground river.
After exploring the Cave we continue toward Sinj- a town settled in the heart of Dalmatia hinterland.
We visit the Museum Alka of Sinj – the museum exhibit includes a variety of uniforms, equipment, and weapons of the Alka knights. A special attraction of the exhibition is a life-size display of the Alkar procession and a reconstruction of the Battle of Sinj in 1715, where visitors in a multimedia environment will be able to experience this glorious battle.
After a short city sightseeing tour, you will have some free time to grab a drink at the main square or exploring the town on your own.

The whole Sinj region has been an exceptional and highly valued place of good food, owing to the fact that the Town’s rich history has joined the spirits of Mediterranean, Oriental, and continental cuisine. After enjoying in Horse farm it is time to return to Split where we will be around 6:00 p.m.
