Krka waterfalls tour starts at 07:30, your guide will pick you up at your hotel/apartment.
Transfer (highway route) to the city of Skradin, this picturesque Dalmatian town is where we will board on a panoramic boat ride to Skradinski Buk – (Buk, buka – noise), the loudest and best-known waterfall on the Krka River.
This is where you will start your guided tour. We will walk along wooden walkways and small bridges, through one way circular, 2 km long educational walking trail with the waterfalls in the middle – let’s explore the beauty of Krka. Old stone watermills are today restored into presentation centers where you will enjoy demonstrations of old trades (included in the price).
Let’s look at how a blacksmith did it and learn how grain used to be ground under heavy stone wheels driven by a river.
After a guided tour you will have enough time to take a dip in the crystal clear water under the waterfalls – this is something you don’t want to miss, you can simply chill in the shade by the waterfalls or try some local dishes in the nearby restaurants. We can organize a traditional Peka lunch at our agrotourism restaurant on the way from National park to Sibenik, this is something that has to be arranged in advance.
In the afternoon we go to visit Šibenik. This city was the first in the world to light its streets by a polyphasic system of alternating current in 1894, powered by the Krka river. You will see the old plant during your tour of the Krka river. The plant supplied enough electricity to power 340 street lights in the city of Šibenik.
The Cathedral of St. James in Šibenik is one of the most important and most beautiful architectural achievements in Croatia, and it is protected as the UNESCO Cultural World Heritage site from 2000.
After a short orientation tour, You will have some free time for exploring narrow stone streets and houses squeezed together typical for Dalmatian cities, or to grab a drink on the promenade.
After enjoying in Sibenik it is time to return to Split where we will be around 8:00 p.m.
Yes, it is safe. We are traveling only by mountain asphalt tourist safe roads.
