National park Plitvice is Croatian, largest, oldest, and most famous national park. 16 lakes connected with breathtaking waterfalls are inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list since 1979.
A leisurely hike with your guide allows you to take in the natural beauty of the surrounding area. The park is visited mostly on foot – however, the entrance includes an electric boat ride across the Emerald Green Lake “Kozjak” and a train ride back to the main entrance.
The visit to the park grounds takes approx. 3 hours. While you can’t swim in these lakes, the experience of nature is amazing, with waterfalls and butterflies piercing the ambiance of the lush green forest, providing many photo opportunities.
From the moment you look at the waterfalls, you will be amazed by the changing color of the water. Thanks to minerals and the amount of sunlight during the day, the water will shimmer from azure to green, grey, and blue.
After enjoying Plitvice we keep toward Zagreb (via Karlovac highway route). The drive takes around two hours.
